Sydney-based, ARIA award winning Mic Conway is a singer, musician, song writer, fire eater, magician, tap dancer, actor, multi-instrumentalist, props builder and puppeteer.
“Street of Dreams” is the duo collaboration between Mic Conway and flat-picking guitar champion and multi-instrumentalist Robbie Long. Stripped back, irreverent and shameless, Mic and Robbie play unusual and idiosyncratic tunes that make jaws drop, toes tap and sides split. Featuring some Captain Matchbox favourites like “My Canary Has Circles Under His Eyes” and a fiery version of “Masochism Tango” as well as a swag of Conway including “Jug Band Man” (which was featured on Spicks and Specks).
The New Graces
The New Graces play the Dorrigo Community Hall on Sunday 4th July. Doors 2pm for Music at 2:30pm.
Bookings must be made prior to the concert. Please book online here. Adults $30, Youth (13-17 yrs) $18, Child (3-12 yrs) $8. We will have an interval for afternoon tea for $6, this can be booked online with tickets.
The New Graces have stormed the Australian music scene, with their debut album ‘Seasons’ peaking at #1 on the ARIA Australian Country Album Charts and receiving 4 x CMAA Golden Guitar nominations in 2021.
Songwriters and multi-instrumentalists, Melanie Horsnell, Kate Burke and Robyn Martin deliver exquisite three-part harmonies, with a little desert heat-haze that could only be Australian. Between them, they weave tales of farmers, hippies, mothers, lovers, the ordinary and the mysterious.
Flavoured with guitar, double bass, mandolin, fiddle and banjo, their songs tell stories of their Australia; desert country steeped in history, wild bush dances, snowy mountains and remote swimming holes. Generations of family life on the land, waking up in a sunny Sydney bedroom and returning to a favourite old pub to play music with friends.
Charlie & Jensen
Charlie & Jensen play Megan Hall on Saturday 10th July.
Potluck Dinner at 6pm, please bring a plate of savoury or sweet food to share. Music begins at 7pm.
Online bookings are essential. Adult $25, Youth (13-17 yrs) $15, Child (4-12 yrs) $5. Please book online here.
Charlie & Jensen is a musical conversation between acoustic artists Hunter Beasley and Luke Wright. They journey through genres, shifting from vocally charged original songs, to virtuosic instrumental tunes, taking a stripped-back, raw approach to music and performance.
Having toured Australia many times, including with Italian and World Music sensation Unavantaluna, Charlie & Jensen have also pleased crowds at some of the country’s favourite Folk & Bluegrass Festivals, including The National Folk Festival, Cobargo, Dorrigo and Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Their musical chemistry is evident in their self-titled album, a collection of recordings, unedited and undeniable which saw them at the Golden Guitar awards with two award nominations.
