FAQs

The Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival is held on Gumbaynggirr country in Dorrigo, NSW, Australia. We acknowledge and pay our respect to elders both past and present. The Festival takes place at the Dorrigo Showgrounds 4180 Waterfall Way.

The DF&BF is an established acoustic Festival, known for our well laid out venues that provide our performers with a respectful stage to share their music, that encourages a nurturing environment. 

Here are some answers to our most commonly asked questions:

  • The 22nd DF&BF 2024 will be held 25, 26, 27 October starting at 5.30pm on the Friday evening and finishing at 5pm on Sunday. 
  • The 6th Dorrigo Old-Time Music School will be held 23, 24, 25 October.
  • The Festival runs all weekend with concerts, workshops, dances, kids events and jamming and has something for the entire family. 
  • The Festival Site is a drug, alcohol, smoke and plastic free event.
  • There are no pets or bikes allowed onsite. Service Animals are permitted, please provide paperwork. 
  • There is Food and Drink available at the Festival Site. Our Food Stalls cater for all dietary needs. 
  • We are doing our best to eliminate our waste so please bring your reusable water bottle! 
  • The Festival is always held on the last full weekend in October.

What are Ticket Prices?

2024 prices:

All ticket prices are GST inclusive.

How will I receive my ticket?

If you purchase your ticket online you will receive an eTicket. eTickets are electronically issued tickets, i.e. they are delivered to you by email. The Festival partners with Trybooking for tickets to the festival. Please print out these tickets and bring them to the festival with you. When you first arrive at the festival, please go to the box-office where we will then issue your wristbands.

Are tickets available at the Festival?

Yes! However, we strongly suggest purchasing your ticket online.

When does the Ticket Office open?

The onsite Ticket Office Hours will be open from 4.30 pm 25th October for entry to the Fesival site.

Can I get a replacement wristband?

No. Please take care of your wristband as we will not replace your damaged wristband with a new one.

I can no longer make it to the festival, can I re-sell my ticket?

No, you cannot re-sell your ticket as the name on the e-ticket must match that of the person entering the Festival. Please contact ticketing@dorrigofolkbluegrass.com.au to request a refund or defer your tickets to next year’s festival.

Camping

Can I camp?

Camping is available at the Dorrigo Showgrounds where the Festival is held. Book Here. 

Other accommodation in Dorrigo includes the Dorrigo Mountain Holiday Park, Heritage Hotel Motel, Lookout Mountain Retreat, Dorrigo Town House B&BThe Frontier Motel, Bush Pepper Lodge, and Fay’s Cottage.

Are there powered sites?

Yes. Powered Camping books out the quickest. If you have a health condition which requires Power please contact ticketing@dorrigofolkbluegrass.com.au and we will do our best to accommodate you.

What do campers do with rubbish?

 The Festival has Rubbish Rooms where you can get help placing your waste into the correct bins. We do encourage campers to take as much waste home with them as possible.

When can I set up my campsite?

Camping Registration is at the North Dorrigo entrance on Tyringham Road.

Camping Registration hours:

Monday 2pm-6pm, Tuesday 8am-6pm, Wednesday- Friday 8am-8pm, Saturday 8am-4pm.

Please leave your site by 4pm on the day of your departure. If you wish to camp at the Dorrigo Showgrounds before the 21st or after the 28th please contact Ray White +61 2 6657 1777.

Are there amenities?

There are Amenities (hot showers and toilets) on site at the Showground. Please be respectful and clean up after yourself. Hot showers in the permanent brick buildings require $1 but the Showtime Toilets & Showers amenities are free.

How many camp sites are there?

We have limited Powered Sites (55) available but there are plenty of Unpowered Sites.

What are the conditions of camping at the Festival?

When purchasing please make sure that you read the Camping Terms & Conditions Camping Terms & Conditions as we want to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Animals Onsite

Are Pets allowed at the Festival?

We LOVE animals but unfortunately we do not allow pets at the Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival site or camping grounds.

Campers and Festival Goers with Assistance Animals may attend with them. Please contact us prior to the Festival if you plan to travel with an Assistance Animal.

Assistance animals can provide a variety of support to alleviate the barriers people with disability experience in daily activities.  In addition to animals that assist people who are blind or have low vision, assistance animals can also provide support to people who are Deaf or hard of hearing; for people who require physical support for mobility or other functional tasks; people who are experience episodic and serious medical crisis; and people who experience psychiatric disorders.

The Assistance Animal must be suitably trained to be taken into public areas.

Merchandise

Can I buy merch?

Yes. The Festival Merchandise shop will open over the Festival weekend and will sell both Festival Merch and Merch from the bands. The Merchandise shop will be open from 5:30pm Friday 25th. There will be a signing table for bands.

What merch is available?

Both Festival Merchandise and Performers Merchandise will be for sale at the Festival.

Only Festival Merchandise is available online. T-shirts, Caps, Water-bottles, Totes and Tea-towels are available.

Programme

Are programmes available?

Hard copy programmes will be available at the Ticket Office over the Festival weekend for a small charge.

How do I know who is playing?

Will the programme be online?

The 2023 schedule is available on the front page of our website. We encourage you to purchase a hard copy of the programme upon your arrival at the festival to have access to all the information needed to know your way around the Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival.

Is there a Kids Programme?

Absolutely! There will be a range of activities on offer including workshops, concerts, dancing and lots more.

Please be mindful that the Kids Area is NOT childcare! Parents must remain with their children at all times.

Volunteering

Can I volunteer?

Volunteer Applications for 2023 are now closed!

Can volunteers attend shows & workshops?

 If you volunteer for the 2023 festival you will receive a festival pass – 12 hours volunteering entitles you to a Full Weekend Pass… so when you’re not “on duty” you can enjoy the Festival!

Accessibility

Is the Festival Site wheelchair accessible?

Yes! There is priority parking, bathrooms and all venues are wheelchair friendly. There are dedicated wheelchair spaces in venues.

Weather

What weather to expect?

Dorrigo is on a plateau so come prepared for all weather conditions! Typically the nights are cold and the days are warm and sunny. The Festival has often received a small rain shower.
