Karen Lynne has been performing Traditional Country & bluegrass music with husband Martin in various line-ups, for over 30 years. Growing up surrounded by this music we now see their son William, an amazing multi-instrumental musician in his own right, often sharing the stage with them. Their music is a mix of traditional style acoustic country & bluegrass, with a spattering of tunes throughout, and after a break from the festival circuit in Australia to support William through senior school, they are back sharing their music again. Karen’s long career includes ten albums (in the country, folk & bluegrass genres), twelve major Award wins, over forty major Finalist Nominations, International tours and many Top 10 Radio Chart hits. Karen, Martin & William are based in the Blue Mountains and are all multi-Award Winners, with awards and Finalist Nominations for singing, songwriting and instrumental skills. Karen & Martin have toured previously across Australia, in NZ and the UK & Europe, one trip of which included a support to top US Bluegrass act “Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder. Karen was not only the first Australian Female Artist to release a complete Bluegrass album back in 1999, but was also the first female in Australia to have a solo Bluegrass album released through a major label, ”Wishing Well”, released under the ABC Records ‘Heartland’ Label. It’s rare these days to see a family singing and playing together in the old time traditional way,.. so this is a special treat!
