Jumbaal Dreamin‘ is a amazing local family band that has been performing for over 25 years continually building up their following because they just keep getting better. The band perform their original songs with style, dynamically moving between songs of rebellion, sadness and celebration. After releasing and touring their single “Jagunda” the band also released their self-titled CD and are currently recording a new EP. Jumbaal is the carpet python which is the group’s totem or “dreaming”, and the magical spirit of the band has continued through the generations. New lead singer Buddy Blair has emerged from his understudy role to take up the mantle with his brother, the excellent lead guitarist Lional Blair. Led by enigmatic Gumbaynggirr elder Uncle Martin Ballangarry who brings pizazz to every show featuring his oldtime piano skills, the band also features the talented Des Ahoy and Ash Johnston as well as Arlene Fletcher who teaches music at the Giingana Gumbaynggirr Freedom School. The band are well loved across Gumbaynggirr and Dhungutti country as they delve into old and new genres and welcome all to experience living Aboriginal culture.
