The Rocky Bottom Girls play a mix of bittersweet originals, old time dance tunes and selected Irish and Americana ballads. Combining the musical connection of sisters Jhana (the Willie Wagtails, The Woohoo Revue) and Sujata (Whoa Mule) with the talent of guitarists Craig (USA – Gentleman Jesse & His Men) and Clara (IRL/UK – Swingin’ Molly) , the Rocky Bottom Girls bring you soaring four-part harmony, driving fiddle and banjo tunes and heartfelt stories from Anaiwan high country (New England). The band’s Irish and American members bring together iconic folk music and lyrical storytelling traditions, which combines with the stunning musicianship of the Allan sister’s Australian brand of folk-bluegrass for a unique aural experience. Audiences are drawn in by the band’s musical chemistry, camaraderie and evident enjoyment of playing together. The Rocky Bottom Girls perform regularly around the New England region, and have previously appeared at the Festival Fringe – Tamworth Country Music. Upcoming bookings include shows in Uralla and Armidale in June 2021, and opening for Felicity Urquhart and Josh Cunningham at Wauchope Community Arts Hall in August 2021.
