The Eight-String Social Club is a concept formulated by multi-instrumentalist Paddy Montgomery and string geniuses Rain of Animals (Pepita Emmerichs and Theodore Barnard).

With their respective loves for all mandolin family instruments (and guitars, of course), they decided Dorrigo is the only appropriate festival to arrange such a gig. The show will celebrate the mandolin family in not only it’s Bluegrass and Old-Time contexts, but will draw from inspirations from further away as well.

It is not a trio show though, we will pick out all of our favourite mandolin pickers (and others too) at the festival and get them up to pick.
There are so many incredibly wonderfully talented players, and we will highlight each of their special abilities on this beloved instrument.
