Lyrebird duo are storytellers with lilting melodies and haunting lyrics. Their music features the intricate banjo work of Jenny Shimmin, paired with the soulful lilting vocals and fiddle playing of Danielle Vita. Their songs tell heartbreaking stories that outline the wisdom you acquire throughout life. The importance of protecting our natural world is a significant theme weaved throughout many of the songs. Jenny Shimmin is one of the pioneers of bluegrass banjo in Australia, having played with many of the greats and performed in many bluegrass festivals in and around the US. Danielle Vita, New York native, was the first place winner in the vocal category of the 2020 Deer Creek Fiddler’s Convention and her original music was awarded Category Finalist and Juror’s Top Five in the 2020 Blues & Roots Radio International Song Contest. They are currently working on a full length album of original songs.
