With an enigmatic approach to musical genres, wandering somewhere on the outskirts of Folk, Blues and Americana, Australian born, Nashville based Jordie Lane returns with his new album, Tropical Depression, released by ABC Music.

A true storyteller, a jokester, a raconteur and troubadour, Lane is an artist that gives every part of himself on the stage. A lover of strangers becoming friends. With festival crowds the world over in awe of his unique finger-pickin guitar style and a classic old-world voice singing a new commentary for our times.

Jordie Lane has continued to delight audiences around the world now for over a decade, performing major festivals in the US, UK, Australia, and Canada. He has toured with a wide range of international legends, from Gotye to Billy Bragg, Cat Power to Old Crow Medicine Show, Ruthie Foster to The Moody Blues and just completing a string of shows with The Waifs anniversary tour in Australia.

A career that has taken Lane from recording and touring 10 releases to date, he’s also found himself performing the role of the late Cosmic Country legend Gram Parsons in the stage play ‘Grevious Angel’, to being one fourth of the Beatles Rubber Soul/Revolver shows at Sydney Opera House, and becoming a composer for the screen writing the Musical Score for newly rebooted adaption of the classic comedy ‘Mother and Son’. Jordie has appeared on Australian TV shows Rock Wiz singing with Grammy nominated US artist Mary Gauthier, and a guest on the hit ‘Spicks and Specks’ along with CW Stoneking.

Following on from a critically acclaimed back catalog featuring in many top 50 album lists, and AIR nominated albums, Jordie Lane returns with his new album ‘TROPICAL DEPRESSION’ released in late 2024 via ABC Music, Jordie Lane is officially getting back out there.

Lane has a lonesome sincerity in his vocal that makes you believe every damn word he sings. We don’t get many artists like this in a generation, let alone on the cutting edge of new music. It’s unsettling at times. Bridging the gap between folk and Americana, Jordie Lane has created a pathbreaking and inspiring sound.
