Jeri & Paddy
Jeri Foreman (fiddle) and Paddy Montgomery (guitar & everything else) grew up in Adelaide, South Australia and have been a musical partnership for more than a decade. They have performed together in many different contexts, across multiple genres. As half of the Irish band, Garida, they were the inaugural recipients of the Peter Daly Award at the National Folk Festival, for the best performance of Celtic music by Australians (2009). They were also consecutive winners of the Australian Bluegrass Scholarship (2014 and 2016). With many other bands and awards besides, Jeri and Paddy are now based in Glasgow (Scotland) and Melbourne (Australia) and play all over the world. Opportunities to see this duo are rare, but always overflowing with friendship and musicality. They have recorded two albums of tunes in the traditional Celtic style, drawing inspiration from Australian life, with the most recent release recorded in Adelaide immediately prior to Jeri’s international fiddle study tour in 2017, from which she did not return. With virtuosity and musical chemistry in abundance, this really is world class acoustic music.
