Balyana is a Gold Coast band that blends Bluegrass with 70s acoustic style music, and whenever they get together, their 30 years of jamming from Cygnet to Townsville shines through.
Balyana means home. The name originates from North Queensland where Rob and Jackie spent much of their younger years. The band draws inspiration from artists such as Paul Kelly, Neil Young, Slim Dusty. Their songs are steeped in traditional music about lost love, open spaces, the never ending search for greener pastures and a love of the simple things in life.
