2016 Festival Review

A Wonderful Weekend!

Performers and patrons alike came from all over Australia and the world to hear and play music and to participate in the 15th Dorrigo Folk and Bluegrass Festival. Smiling faces all around.

This year we introduced several innovations. Thanks to Bellingen Shire Council we had two filtered water stations for patrons to fill their own containers. Thanks to Ebor Spring Water we provided drinking water to our performers from dispensers behind stage. Both of these actions reduce the need for bottled water.

We also had staffed rubbish stations at the festival where we helped patrons dispose of their rubbish in either recycling or rubbish bins. Thus increasing considerably, the amount going into recycling. We asked our food vendors to only provide recyclable containers and utensils. We hope next year, with the help of BSC, to extend this initiative to include compostable material.

Our festival is a special event in our local social and cultural calendar. Like many other festivals held around Australia each weekend it can only happen with the hard work of many, many people.
We would like to send out a big THANKYOU to all involved, especially to our Performers, our Amazing Sound Crews, our Sponsors our Marvellous Volunteers who give so much towards the event.

We look forward to seeing many of you again next year. The dates for the festival in 2017 will be 27th,28th 29th of October. Performer applications will open at the end of January.
